Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Remember to give thanks, hug
and say I love you to those around you. This Thanksgiving I am feeling a little
out of control. I think it is because I normally cook and this year I’m not. I
will let you know how my Thanksgiving goes and if I make the right food
choices.
Thanksgiving…. Confessions of a foodaholic.
It is nearly impossible to follow a strict diet and stick to
it. How many of you don’t make the right food choices on purpose especially during the holidays? We are all
human, right? I know I have caved every now and again. My weakness on
Thanksgiving would be the pumpkin pie. Although, I have to say I love
everything about Thanksgiving. I don’t think there is one food that I dislike
on Thanksgiving. So, that being said….I
have caved on occasion. It may be my fave the pumpkin pie…minus the crust this
year.
FODMAPs are tough. There are not many food choices when
first starting out and it can be overwhelming. That being said if you look at
the overall picture of the foods and break it down it is doable. If you check
out my previous post
Surviving a FODMAP Friendly Thanksgiving or any other dinner engagement.
A guide to making better choices
I did list some foods that you can eat on this diet. There
is even a recipe for a FODMAP friendly pie crust although it might be too late
to make that now. That is o.k. Christmas is coming so you can prepare for that.
Somehow, though this year, I think I am going to be good.
Being away from home is not a good time to be a cheater to begin with. We all
know the repercussions of that. There are already challenges of making the
right choices of foods and then there are no guarantees. So, “I have enough on
my plate.” sort to speak.
Have a good one and loosen your belt. I will be back to let you know if I made
the right choices or not. :) Gobble, Gobble.
